Dior Poison Blue Nail Polish

dior blue poisonLoved Chanel’s Blue Satin but couldn’t get your hands on a bottle? Blue Satin caused such a craze amongst beauty fanatics that its rival Dior had to come out with a Blue of its own. Dior recently made Poison Blue available only on Sephora online. Before, this color was only available in Europe. What? Us Americans need some love too!

Even though I have Blue Satin (preordered it a month before it even came out last December), I want Dior’s Poison Blue as well. The main difference between the 2 polishes is that the Chanel is a shimmery navy blue while the Dior is a glossy navy blue. I’m so in love with navy blue beauty products now that heck, I’ll get both!

Get the Dior Poison Blue Nail Polish via Sephora for $19.

Saks Beauty & Gift Card Event!

saks beautyAlright… it’s another Thursday where I need to leave work early to fight traffic to get to Beverly Hills Saks. As a last minute decision (perhaps to boost 1st quarter sales?), Saks is having a one of their infamous gift card events today. In case you didn’t know, the breakdown is as follows:

Spend $250 to $499, get $25
Spend $500 to $999, get $50
Spend $1000 to $1999, get $150
Spend $2000 to $2999, get $300
Spend $3000 or more, get $450

Today also marks the first day of their beauty event (which already started online earlier this week). Is it just me, or have both the gifts for Saks and Neiman Marcus been meager this Spring? I thought the economy was bad! Gimme my samples! Luckily, the samples for each individual department still has been pretty good.

Shu Uemura Moisture Eye Zone Mask

What is a girl to do after staying out way too late on a weeknight and need to go to work looking presentable the next day? Shu Uemura Moisture Eye Zone Mask, of course. It seems like a gimmick - brighter, more awake eyes in 10 minutes? But it really works!

shu uemura eye maskJust put the eye mask on for about 10 minutes underneath your eyes and it’ll visibly reduce darkness and puffiness. The beauty of this is that the masks are infused with vitamins and strawberry extract that totally soothe the delicate eye area. The best part is that instead of washing the mask off after application, you just dab the remaining serum all over your eyes! After a long night, I just put this on in the morning before my skincare routine and my eyes are ready to face the world soon after.

Buy the Shu Uemura Moisture Eye Zone Mask via Neiman Marcus for $45 for 12 pairs.

New Blue Chanel Reissue

I can’t believe this is my 100th post already. Time does past fast when you’re shopping and keeping up with what is going on in the beauty and fashion worlds.

chanel reissueWhat better way to celebrate than write about my favorite brand - duh, Chanel and my favorite thing to buy - handbags! My handbag lust of the season is the new blue Chanel Reissue from Spring/Summer 2008. Blue is definitely the new black and no one does blue better than Chanel - Blue Satin nail polish is out of this world gorgeous and I love both of the new blue eyeshadow palettes this season from Chanel. My Chanel SA actually convinced me to add blue Inimitable mascara to my beauty routine! I have been too shy to try it yet but I’ll let you guys know in a week or so.

Anywyas, back to this gorgeous beauty. There is nothing more timeless, classic, and beautiful than a Chanel flap. The creme de la creme of Chanel flaps is the reissue. I actually prefer it a lot more to the classic Chanel flap because of its absence of logos, luscious cracked shiny lambskin leather, and rarity.

I’m actually planning to buy a new black Chanel flap soon and am wondering if I should throw in a few more hundred and get this reissue instead. All of my Chanels are black so far and even though blue is the new black, I still love black… can I let this gorgeous blue reissue into my life?

If you’re interested, waitlist ASAP cuz you know how it is…

MAC FAFI Paint Pots

mac paintI know I’m late in the game with respect to MAC’s awesome paint pots (what can I say, I love using traditional eye shadows and brush application). After hearing raves and raves about these paint pots from fashion bloggers as well as MAC makeup artists, I decided to buy 2 to experiment over the weekend. Wowie!!! There is seriously nothing like it and it’s awesome!

I decided to go with Nice Vice and Girl Friendly from the Fafi collection since I’m so in love with every other makeup in it. Nice vice is a frost and darker plum so it is perfect for more dramatic looks while Girl Friendly is a creamy pink and perfect for every day looks. So these paint pots are essentially cream eyeshadows to be applied by using just your hand. The beauty of it is that it is so nice to blend with other powder eyeshadows as well! The best part of these paint pots is its vibrant long lasting color. I wore them out Saturday, all of Saturday (from morning to evening), and by the wee hours of Sunday morning, they were still fresh as new! While I still like powder eyeshadows because of the vast array of color selection and I love playing with my brushes, I’ll definitely be looking out for new colors of these paint pots and stocking up on some permanent colors.

Buy the MAC Paint Pots for $16.50 at your nearest MAC counter or at MAC Online.
